Moving season is upon us!  The weather is supportive, the kids are out of school, and the summer time is a season for changes.  How do you make the move, whether local or across the continent, stress free?  We have a few ideas for you:

• Create a 60 day calendar of the process, along with a binder of important forms and contracts
• Know your budget, and remember things like deposits , hotels and food
• Hire a reputable moving company - it's well worth the money
• Pack your items correctly and properly - you have spent hard earned money on these things
• Mark or color code each box  as to what room they should go in to once you arrive at our location
• Pack a "survival box", and keep it in your car so when you arrive at your new home you have toiletries, towels, medications, clean clothes
• Take out extra insurance on specialty items
• Take photos of big ticket items prior to move in case of breakage
• Be cost effective - don't take a 20 lb bag of potting soil with you when you are being charged by the pound
• De-clutter your home - give away those items that you really don't need any longer.  Begin fresh.

Preparation and hiring the right help will make any move smoother.  Oh, and the best advice always is to be excited about the new change in you and your family's life.  And remember to breathe.
