On my usual workout this morning, just enjoying the sounds of the gym, and my warm up on the treadmill. There are always others on each side of me, getting that heart rate up as well. If the person is friendly, it's pretty easy to strike up a conversation at that point.
After fitness goals and favorite trainers are talked about for a while - the conversation inevitably moves to, "So what do you do anyway?" Once I tell them that I am in Real Estate, which generally leads to many statements these days: "OMG how is business?" "Nothing is selling - nobody is buying."
Short of getting into all different aspects these types of conversations bring on- I simply say, "Homes are selling, which means people are buying them - they always have and they always will." "Who do you know who is looking to buy, sell, or invest that I can help?" I wished him a great workout and met with my trainer.
One thing we all have to remember is there is a statistic and proof for every statement out there about the real estate market. If I wanted to push the idea that nothing is selling - I would go and find every over-priced home on the market and skew the results in my favor.
When I look around, I see lenders lending, home inspectors inspecting, and title companies insuring. What that means to me is homes are selling and people are buying. They always have and they always will!
