Having been raised in the San Fernando Valley and then moving to Westlake Village in the early 70's has provided him with a unique perspective and extensive experience in real estate and business matters in the San Fernando and Conejo Valleys. Mr. Hoefflin has extensive trial and arbitration experience; he has handled many related appellate matters, including his successful argument before the California Supreme Court (Ridgley v. Topa). Mr. Hoefflin founded his present Firm, HoefflinBurrows, in Westlake Village, in 2000. Mr. Hoefflin is the former co-chair of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association, Business and Real Estate Section. He has a B.S. with Honors in Business Administration - Accounting from CSU, Northridge and obtained his law degree from Loyola University School of Law, Los Angeles in 1974.
Jason Burrows has been practicing law for over 13 years throughout Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to joining HoefflinBurrows, Mr. Burrows represented individuals and various businesses in the areas of business litigation, professional liability, employment law, risk reduction/management, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage, estate planning and litigation. Mr. Burrows' practice is now focused on real estate and business litigation on behalf of clients in Southern California with an emphasis in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. He has a degree in Business Administration - Finance from CSU, Northridge and is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He obtained his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
Steve Meadville has been a trial attorney for more than 33 years, including four years as Vice President and Senior Litigation Counsel for Heath Net, Woodland Hills, California. Mr. Meadville obtained his law degree from Southwestern University, Los Angeles, in 1977. After practicing law as a sole practitioner for five years, he became one of three founding partners in Vogt, Meadville and Swallow, Encino, California, where he oversaw the work of up to 5 other litigation attorneys until 1996. Mr. Meadville then joined Hoefflin & Associates, now HOEFFLIN•BURROWS, as Of Counsel, and has been practicing law in Westlake Village ever since. Mr. Meadville is admitted to practice law in California and in all of the United States District Courts of California. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Meadville has been serving as a Mediator, Arbitrator, and Judge Pro Tem for both Los Angeles and Ventura Counties on a part-time basis for more than 25 years. Since receiving his Certificate in "Mediating the Litigated Case" through Pepperdine University School of Law in 1999, Mr. Meadville's practice has gradually shifted away from the private practice of law to serving as a Mediator and Arbitrator in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings, which he now does on nearly a full time basis. In addition to the training through Pepperdine University, Mr. Meadville has received additional ADR training from the NASD, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
HoefflinBurrows is well suited to represent entrepreneurs in a variety of business matters, as the Firm has substantial experience in representing owners of private businesses and corporate executives of public companies who don't want to or can't use the corporation's law firm. HoefflinBurrows' lawyers are also experienced in representing buyers and sellers of real estate, as well as real estate brokers (ideally during a transaction and with an eye toward saving the deal). However, if a dispute arises after the close of escrow, HoefflinBurrows will vigorously represent the client in arbitration or litigation.
Other law firms recognize HoefflinBurrows' reputation in real estate and business matters as evidenced by their referrals to HoefflinBurrows when they have conflicts or other issues that preclude their representation of the client in that particular matter. HoefflinBurrows handles that matter for the client and then returns the client back to the referring firm.
